Pretty much every blogger with an interest in beauty has been raving about this lipstick and i can now fully understand why! i was given it along with some other MAC bits for my birthday and its fast become my favourite lip colour. the pink is a corally colour, much more orange than in the pictures and it has a really nice satin consistency. I was a bit surprised at how different the actual lipstick is on, compared with on my hand or in the tube but I actually prefer it. It's also a nice touch that 100% of the money from MAC Viva Glam products goes towards the MAC AIDS fun (which is why it has the Red casing).

seeing as i have a few days off work and we're currently experiencing a heat-wave, i took a trip up to Old Street with one of my dearests to make the most of the sunshine. we had a wander around brick lane and spitalfields and after working up an appetite decided to head to the Breakfast Club in Hoxton for a serious munch.

Anyone who hasn't heard of it, its basically a brunch style restaurant which cooks up breakfast delights including bacon and pancakes and other bits like burgers and burritos. we decided to share some chilli beef nachos and a stack of pancakes with berries and vanilla cream...seriously if you order anything, SHARE IT - the portion sizes are like something out of the flintstones! I can honestly say the pancakes are some of the best i've tasted so make sure you order a stack if you go. After munching our way through about 2/3s of our order, we felt like we were about to give birth to a food baby so the staff let us mooch around for a while slumping on the table. The place has a really chilled vibe and they have a jukebox where you can request songs and the whole place is filled with quirky decor. there's a couple scattered across London in Hoxton, Soho, Spitalfields and Angle so i definitely recommend a visit if you're ever near by!

So basically i'm the luckiest girl in the world right now. i got my graduation results last week (i got a 2:1 eeekk) and i turned 22 yesterday and as a present my parents gave me a cheque so i could buy myself something special. i wanted to buy something which i could keep for years and that i wouldn't be able to afford to go out and buy myself so i chose the Louis Vuitton Speedy 30 bag. i've wanted one for years and thought it made the perfect present!

I absolutely adore this bag, it's the perfect size for all my bits and bobs including my ipad and i will be able to use it for work. the inside inside lining is a stunning red colour and it has gold padlocks and LV embossed studding around the handles...literally can't wait to take it on its first outing!

finally got round to posting my outfit from wireless....i really need to find a way of taking outfit photos whilst i am actually wearing the clothes! i hate mirror pictures and i don't have a tripod so think its going to be a case of balancing my camera on some books in the mean time. it is, i found the jacket at a vintage fair in bournemouth and paired it with my trusty disco pants and dr martens. the jacket was such a bargain, i got it for a tenner and it was hugggeee when i bought it but i tucked it under and sewed it to make it slightly more cropped.... i'm pretty happy with the result!

so i FINALLY bought myself a pair of black patent dr.martens!! i've been lusting over them for well over a year now but could never work out if they would suit me or not. i'm quite short so i always thought they might make my legs look stumpy but i plucked up the courage (and stumped up the £75) for a shiny new pair and can report that i LOVE them!
    Dr Martins
seeing as our summer has turned into a wash-out, they are the ideal shoes to team with my disco pants or even toughen up pretty skirts and opaque tights! i actually wore them last weekend to LOVEBOX with the outfit below and got lots of compliments. a word of warning though...they take a long while to break in so get yourself a big thick pair of socks and wear them around your house before venturing out! (as you can tell i took the photos post Lovebox...but i think it gives the boots character!)

over the last few weeks i've been looking everywhere for a denim jacket with customised beading or studding around the shoulders and collar but every one i've found has been like £150+ ....and i don't want one that badly!! So I thought i would give it ago and make one myself. I ordered a Topshop denim jacket on ebay for £7 and found some old beaded bracelets which i cut the elastic out and used the beads for my detailing - (you'll be amazed at how many old bracelet you have in your drawers!)

Next i went about glue-ing the beads along the collar of the shirt, I used copy-dex fabric glue (which is so disgusting and smells fishy) but i'm trying to source something a little stronger as i'm still worried the beads will drop off! I also put small pearl beads along the pocket line and cut off the arms so the jacket is now sleeveless....i'm pretty chuffed with the results so far but im still considering maybe spikes along the shoulders or some kind of studding. (sorry for the shameless mirror canon is out battery so the iphone has to surfice for now!)

What do you guys think of my efforts so far? Anyone inspired to give it a go? I think it would look really nice on a chiffon blouse collar too! x

I've been wanting to try out stiletto point nails for a while now after seeing them on Rihanna and Rita Ora but unfortuneatly my natural nails are tiny stumps and if i even tried to file them they would cease to exist... so i went out at the weekend and bought myself some acrylic tips and nail glue and set about giving myself a new ferocious manicure!

I've always been a big fan of Shellac gel rather than normal nail polish so I used new colour 'Hot Pop Pink' to achieve my slightly Barbie-esque result. It was fairly simple, glue the tips to my real nail then using a standard nail file, file the nail from both sides to create an angled point and apply the gel polish as normal. I'm really happy with how they turned out, although as they were SO long it was quite hard to do normal tasks for the first few days!

This afternoon my mum and I trotted off to London Bridge to visit the Christian Louboutin exhibition at the Design Museum. Celebrating the 20th anniversary for Mr Louboutin's career, the museum presented a retrospective of his work showcasing twenty years of designs and inspirations.

The exhibition was really interesting, filled with quotes from Christan Louboutin himself on all the walls and hundreds of shoes adorning the floors as you walked around. You weren't allowed to take photos but i managed a few sneaky ones as I walked round the museum! The exhibition carries on till the 9th July, and for a student costs only £6 so i recommend you get down there if you're as in love with shoes as i am......

so this post is a little off-topic but its sunny i couldn't resist a post about my favourite thing.... barbecues!! as it was the eurovision song contest yday, i had a eurovision themed bbq with my friends - each of us selected a country, brought some food and drank cava and chatted in the sun before listening to some awful euro-cheese on the tele! the  spread was delicious, we had a selection of steak, chorizo, kebabs and burgers then delicious rustic breads, olives, garlic mussels and spicy rice and cous-cous (we know how to BBQ!).

    Eurovision BBQ

best of all my Swedes won (yayy!)...but sadly commiserations to the UK - hardly a suprise now was it Engle?
Did anyone else host a little eurovision party?

I first heard about the Ciate caviar manicure when people started re-tweeting images of their bejewelled nails onto my twitter feed so when Ciate set up there pop-up shop in Selfridges last week, I was first there to bag myself a set (or two!)

    Ciate Caviar Manicure

The sets come in three colour variations, I went for the rainbow and black pearl options but they also do a stunning mother of pearl which is a white polish with clear beads. Each set is £18 and should contain enough for 30 applications.
it's pretty simple to apply, you just paint a layer of polish on your nail, then after the second coat you sprinkle the tiny beads on and press into the nail to secure them and voilĂ ! Plus there's no need to worry about losing the beads as the set contains a tray and funnel to allow you to collect the excess & refill your bottle!

    Ciate Caviar Manicure

i would definitely recommend the manicure if you want it for a one-night occasion but they are not durable in the slightest! I was told not to put any top coat on as the nails are supposed to have a jagged effect but i found that they were impossible to keep on! I had my mani done for a party and by the end of the night most of the beads had come off...i might try it again with a topcoat and see if that helps!

    BIO - OIL

over the last few months i've lost a fair amount of weight (just over a stone!) which i'm really pleased about.... HOWEVER with that has come the unsightly arrival of stretch marks on my hips and thighs. i'm not talking huge purple crevices but they are fairly noticeable (especially to me anyway) and i have been looking at ways of getting rid of them. As i'm sure most people are aware, there is no way to remove stretch marks after they have appeared as they're a type of scar, so the best you can do is to minimise their appearance and prevent future occurrences. i had heard recommendations about several products including cocoa butter and various oils and the product which stood out most was Bio-Oil.
    Bio Oil

    Bio Oil
Bio Oil: £8.99 for 60ml (Superdrug)

Bio-Oil is a blend of plant extracts and vitamins all suspended in a light, non-greasy oil formula with a light smell. the directions instruct you to apply the product in a circular motion two to three times a day for three months. i only tend to apply the oil at night...mainly because this is when i do my full skin-moisturising routine and i like to let it all soak in while i sleep. So far, the results have been outstanding and i've only been using the product for one week! i wish i had taken before shots so i could illustrate the improvement, but honestly the marks have lightened and now blend in with my skin so they are hard for me to find to even apply the oil. Obviously cases differ from person to person but i would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a product to minimise their stretch-marks.

one month to go until i head up north for circo loco in the arena and it's time to start planning my outfit! i'm a big fan of 80/90s sportswear at the moment and i'm obsessed with a tribal print so think i'm going to try and fuse the two looks together! plus i've had my eye on these air max's for a long time now and think i'm finally going to make the investment - i'm sure my style isn't quite to everyone's taste but i like to do things a little different! x

    Pro Beauty Show

this weekend i woke up bright & early and drove from my home in North West London, all across the city to the Docklands to attend the Professional beauty show 2012. it is basically a huge trade show for beauty professionals and salon owners with a vast array of companies exhibiting from fake tan, hair extensions and nail polishes through to high end equipment and cosmetic procedures.

I visited the show with my mum, a salon owner, and we found ourselves bustling along with all the other guests but sadly not to much avail. it was far too busy when we arrived to get a real look at any of the products on offer and was i massively disappointed with shellac's new season colours (the main reason i wanted to go!) so i only ended up leaving the show with some new hair extensions in tow! my mum, on the other hand, opted to invest in a spot of botox which a doctor administered there and then in front of the might sound crazy but it is 100% safe and honestly the results are AMAZING. everyone is entitled to have their personal opinion on botox but i think that everyone should be allowed their own discretion on what they want to do with their body and i for one say you should be allowed to grow old as gracefully or disgracefully as you wish! i am extremeley annoyed at myself as i left my camera at home but i have posted a couple of pics below from various sources (linked underneath) so you get a jist of what the show was like!

a couple of weeks ago i posted about my aqua couture dress which didn't fit when it was delivered....well after just over two weeks of running, squeezing, prodding and pulling i managed to get into it and wear it for my friend's birthday party! i got so many compliments on the dress and i felt amazing - well worth the investment!

i've been living in dissertation hell for the last few weeks so to take my mind off it i went on a little road trip with my housemate, Elli. We ventured to a place called Hamworthy Park, just outside of Poole which is a cute little park with a beach and also the coolest (i'm easily amused) playground which was like a gym but for children! We had a little play on that, then fed the ducks and ate 99 ice creams by the sea...honestly was one of the nicest days i've had in a long while!
