everyone knows that breakfast is 'the most
important meal of the day' but if you're anything like me you’ll barely have
time to sit down and enjoy it mid-week whilst rushing to get ready for work!
More often than not I end up just having a smoothie or protein shake on the
train, or sometimes I skip it out altogether (I know, I know….slap my wrists!)
I’d heard a lot about Belvita breakfast biscuits
from the recent ad campaign with Lisa Snowden so when their press team got in
touch to ask if I’d like to try the new Cocoa & Live Yogurt Crunch
variety, I jumped at the chance! This
new variety consists of a layer of creamy live yogurt sandwiched between
two crunchy cocoa biscuits and the science behind what makes them great is that
they are scientifically proven to release carbohydrates over four hours, helping
to keep you full up till lunch.
I
have to say I was really impressed with the breakfast biscuits – they had a
nice crunchy texture, I was expecting them to be a bit limp so I was pleased
that they had a bit of bite to them! The creamy layer was also pleasantly
surprising, it has a sweet almost coconut taste to it which works well with the
chocolate biscuits which aren’t overpowering in the slightest! Whilst they won’t
be replacing my leisurely weekend brunches, I will definitely be buying these
for when I need something handy on the go – and at only 112 calories per biscuit they’re great to have in your
handbag when I need something nutritious whilst dashing out the house to jump on the train!
Belvita Breakfast biscuits are now
available in 13 flavours including Fruit & Fibre, Forest Fruits and Cranberrry.
If you fancy giving them a try, they are available in store now from Tesco
priced £2.79.
