I was recently invited by the lovely team at Tabasco to take part in their latest blogger challenge #FunwithFlavour. As a self-professed spice addict, I love Tabasco pepper sauce. A splash of Tabasco has the ability to transform any dish and I was challenged to put this theory to the test by creating an Ultimate Tabasco menu of starter, main course and dessert with the sauce playing a part in each dish.
To help me with the challenge I was sent a range of four Tabasco sauces: original, Habernero (hot), chipotle (bbq) and green pepper (mild). For my starter I decided to go with something light. I love soups but wanted to create something fresh but tasty so opted to spice up a simple carrot and coriander soup I regularly make at home. I love adding chilli to my soup recipes but by adding a soup of dashes of Tabasco, this really packs a punch - not for the faint hearted!

What you'll need
- Carrot
- Onion

- Coriander
- Cream
- Cumin
- Lemon Juice
- Chilli flakes
- Ginger
- Black Pepper
- Vegetable Stock
- Tabasco Habenero sauce
- Heat some oil (I use Lucy Bee's coconut oil) in a large pan, add the onion and ginger and cook for 2-3 minutes until softened
- Add the cumin, chilli and tomatoes and cook for around another minute
- Peel the carrots and add to the pan with the vegetable stock, bringing to the boil and allowing the carrots to cook for 15-20 mins till tender
- Pour the mixture in to a blender. Add a squeeze of lemon, fresh coriander, sprinkling of salt and pepper and a couple of drops of Tabasco
- Whizz up and then serve!
I'll be posting my main course later this week, in the mean time take a look at the Tabasco Facebook page for more recipe inspiration!
