As the British Red Cross is the official company charity of the agency I work at, I recently had the opportunity to go to a ‘Champagne Jazz Soiree’, hosted
by the charity at the Intercontinental
Hotel in Mayfair. It was a night of jazz, dancing and fundraising in support of
their ‘clean start’ appeal which aims to give safer water to hundreds of
thousands of people in Kenya and Bangladesh (did you know that dirty water
kills more children that war?! In this day and age, it is mind-blowing to think
that that water is still the most common sauce of disease in the world).
The Red Cross are a fantastic charity which helps
vulnerable people in both the UK and abroad respond to crisis, whether that be
as a result of conflicts, natural disasters or individual emergencies. You can
view more about the great work they do here: http://www.redcross.org.uk
Guests
were treated to a three course meal and champagne and we got to hear more about the work which the Red Cross does, as well as taking part in fundraising activities including a raffle with some fantastic prizes which raised over £1000 in ticket sales alone. I had a briliant evening and it was great to help raise money for such a worthy cause. If you'd like ot make a contribution, head over to the page just here
