So if you read my last post about our Berlin trip, you'll know I left you guys on a cliffhanger about the incredible burger place we went to...

Time for the big reveal. Let me introduce you to The Bird.

The Bird is a New York inspired bar and steak-house which has incredible burgers right at the heart of their menu. It's a little out of the centre of Berlin, away from the tourist trap, but it's totally worth the detour.
Inside it's decked out in quirky art-work and wooden tables and is packed wall-to-wall with trendy, hungry Berliners. We arrived early for our table and we couldn't even wait at the bar as there was a waiting list of people queuing for a seat!
Once we were seated, we set about on our plan of attack. First port of call was wings. I love chicken wings. You know that by now - so we ordered a round of 12 spicy wings (€7.00) washed down with a mini-stein of German beer.
Hot, sticky and fall of the bone tender....
For the main event, burgers and steak is where The Bird really shines. All their burgers are made from 250g+ of premium German steak which is minced up and formed into huge patties, cooked however you like - just don't piss them off and order 'well done'....
Tom went for the BBQ Filthy Harry (€12.50) - a sticky bacon and cheese burger drenched in tangy BBQ sauce. Served with a generous helping of skin-on chips (oh how I love when restaurants don't charge you extra for fries!) and lettuce, pickles and red onion.
I went for the 'Fat Stingy Gonzales' - a huge beef patty slathered in tasty guacamole and a mild salsa verde (€12.50). Both our burgers were cooked medium rare with a pinky red centre and oozing with meaty juices which dribbled down your chin - a clear sign of a good burger,
Generous portions meant there was no room for dessert (even with my extra pudding stomach!) so it was a big thumbs up from the both of us. If you're ever in Berlin, I highly recommend you make the journey out for one of these burgers!
